You Can Never Lose Your Mother

March 15th, 2010 by Kissie Leave a reply »

Today is the first day I am posting from this site and because the site is new, I have a lot of tweaking and importing to do.

In doing so, I came across some posts that were familiar. After being amused by some, I could see they were in desperate need of some quick editing before updating. When I came to this particular piece, I was stunned. Stunned because I don’t recall writing it and have no recollection of why I ever did. I cannot remember why I saved this one nor what prompted me to want to post it.

I’m still not sure if now is the time to share so I proceed with caution. The time may be just right for some of you but for others too soon or too late. Personally, I’m in an emotional state as I direct my prayers and thoughts to one of my dearest friends.

She may depart this earth, and her body may be out of your sight, and laid away in God’s care.

You will see her face and hear her voice no more; no more will her hand scatter the good seeds of truth and love upon your life’s garden. But you have not lost her.

Your mind and heart are full of the seeds which fell from her hand along the years. These you never can lose.

No hand of death can root them out of your life. They have grown into the very fibers of your character. They reappear in your habits, your dispositions, your feelings and opinions, your modes of thought, and your very phrases and forms of speech!

You can never lose your mother; the threads of her life are woven inextricably into your life.

My Friend, I love you dearly and I remember. I’m grateful that the last words she heard from me were
I LOVE YOU.

  1. Kissie, I lost my mom nearly seven years ago, when I was pregnant with my sixth baby. There was a time I swore I'd not be able to give birth without her to show up after and take care of me. I guess I managed, but I will always miss having her in my life.

Good luck with your new site. Perfect name!

As far as your loss, I won’t try to add to the post….I think it says all I could muster.
